Seattle has a fantastic blues scene. They have some of the best house parties ever, and two regular dances.

Burn Blue

Burn Blue is a weekly dance. It happens at Waid’s Place - 1212 E Jefferson St. Cost is $5 before 9pm, and $7 after. There’s a lesson at 8:00 (included in the price), and after 9 you get a $2 drink coupon - good for a discount on anything at the bar or a bottle or water. Burn Blue’s mission is to grow the blues scene, and they regularly bring in upcoming DJs and Instructors. There’s also a pillow room.

Blues Underground

Blues Underground happens every 3rd Friday in the month, and it’s not uncommon to find 100+ people on the dance floor. Cost is $5/$3 students/SSC/Canadians.

Blues Feets

Blues Feets is a blues dance practica that takes place every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month at TripleStep Studios. It goes from 7 - 10 pm and costs $3. The mission of Blues Feets is to create an easy-going and supportive environment where people can practice and get feedback on their blues dancing skills. There’s no pillow room, but there may soon be blue christmas lights.
