Memphis Blues Exchange - Feb 29, 2008

Welcome to Bluesalicious!

In determining why you should come to Memphis, it was decided that the only reason to do a Memphis Exchange was to enrich you with the culture of Memphis where our blood runs blue. We want you to know what it’s like to dance here every week and we will be taking you to some of our favorite dance spots. It was also decided we didn’t want venues that looked like the generic venues of other exchanges (the boxy ballroom, gym, fellowship hall, etc…) Therefore…

there are no pretty dance halls here. We like it real! We like it raw! Real Juke Joints and Live Delta Blues. We’ve picked out some of the best blues bands in Memphis from the 100s of bands that we have at our finger tips 7 days a week – we are Home of the Blues after all. Get ready to rock because Memphis likes to rock out to the Blues. We’ve got high energy Delta Blues that’ll get your heart pumping. DJ music sets will consist of the vast array of blues styles and music genres to give you a well-rounded music experience throughout the weekend.

From Montreal With Love 2 is happy to see you’re visiting our website. This year features everything we had last year but better (of course).

In the dead of winter, Montreal is freezing. It is colder than Toronto, Moscow, Estonia, Beijing, and New York City. But fear not. We intend to bring “blues dancing” heat to this cold Canadian cosmopolitan. Come. Share your love and warmth, again.

“From Montreal With Love 2” takes place in the midst of St-Valentine’s day weekend: Friday February 15, 2008 - Sunday February 17, 2008. During this time, Montreal will be welcoming the most loving blues dancers.

This exchange will feature everything anyone could possibly desire: music, wine, and women (okay, more like: music, snacks, and dancers).

Houston Fusion Exchange - Jan 4, 2008

Houston Fusion Exchange

Swing. Blues. Tango. FUSION.

Fusion is the combination of dances in such a way that allows dancers to use all the techniques, connections, and movements of many dances (in particular swing and blues, or blues and tango, or west coast and blues). This is a constant communication from lead to follow (and vice versa) that uses the dancers knowledge of more than one dance to flow from one dance to another (ie. leading a boleo inside a blues song, a blues follow would never loosen her leg and swing it around like in a boleo) within a song/dance.

Learn to dance and combine and experience the passion of west coast, slow lindy, blues, and argentine tango — all in one event!
